To all the plants I've loved before (and still love)
how it started
how it's going
Hey there, welcome, welcome! This page is all about my absolute favorite thing in the world - gardening! And I'm guessing you stumbled upon this little corner of the internet because you're just as obsessed with plants as I am. Well, strap in, my friend, because you're about to join me on one heck of a leafy adventure. It all began in the midst of that pandemic chaos when my best friend's mom handed me a few plant cuttings. Fast forward three years, and I've officially become a proud plant mommy to over a hundred thriving green babies. Crazy, right? So, get ready to dive headfirst into my wild, plant-filled journey, and let's grow together! 🌱🪴😄
Oh, did I mention I love hugging plants? Yeah, it's a bit of an obsession. And speaking of plant love, check out this epic picture I snapped during my trip to Philadelphia this summer at the botanical garden. I mean, seriously, look at this tree's trunk - it's huugeeee! 🌳 It practically begged for a plant hug, and you bet I obliged.
But you know what my absolute favorite thing to do is? It's watching my plants grow, observing the birth of new leaves, and sometimes I just can't resist gently uncurling them as they unfurl into the world. There's something incredibly therapeutic about witnessing nature's miracles up close.
Now, let me introduce you to my plant gang! My all-time favorites are the Money plant, Snake plant, ZZ plant and String of Hearts. Money plants hold a special place in my heart because they were my plant-propagating first love. I collected so many cuttings, my home is filled with money plants! But I'll never get tired of them.
I also have a soft spot for Snake plants. They're an army of green, looking absolutely amazing, and they're practically indestructible. Minimal care, maximum beauty - what more could a plant parent ask for?
The ZZ plant is another tough cookie. Funny story, I used to think ZZ plants couldn't grow in India, but boy was I wrong. I gifted one to my cousin, and a stem broke. Lo and behold, after a year and a half in the same pot, I spotted a tiny bud. I took pictures every day until it fully bloomed. I even created an illustration during that period just to document how excited I was.
Last but not least, my ultimate plant crush is the String of Hearts. I'd only seen it in pictures, but I finally got my hands on one in Darjeeling, a city in northeastern India that shares a border with Nepal. It was the prettiest plant I owned, but sadly, it couldn't survive the harsh climate. Then, as fate would have it, I moved to California, and I stumbled upon a Nepalese restaurant run by a lovely auntie who had a few String of Hearts plants. She kindly gave me one, and it now sits on my studio desk, surviving, albeit a bit fragile.

WAITTTT, there's more! I've also had the pleasure of growing some truly amazing things in my garden from seed that make me burst with pride. Here are some of my most fantastic garden accomplishments.

After coming to Berkeley, I've found new buddies among my plants who have become my photoshoot props, provide me with breakfast company, and simply brighten my studio desk and the space around it, offering constant motivation. It's bittersweet because I'll have to bid them goodbye as I'm graduating this December. They've been with me through thick and thin, and I'll miss them dearly. But hey, maybe my next gardening adventure awaits in a new city! 🌱📸🌼
